My knitting time has fallen into a predictable routine lately with me working on all three of my WIP's for a little bit each day. Not ideal in terms of finishing things but it's working.
My commuting project is my Diamante Socks. In the 30 or so solid minutes of knitting I get sitting on the bus or train, I might manage a single repeat in a day. That's if I don't fuck it up and have to tink back. I have been managing to do that at least twice a week. My mind sometimes really gets into whatever book I am listening too. For the last two weeks it has been Next by Michael Crichton which is a very interesting and thought provoking book about genetic engineering. I really had to pay attention to understand all the technical information given as part of the story. Anyway, I am just about to start on the ribbing today to finish off my first sock. At the rate I am going I might have a new pair of socks by Memorial Day, especially because next up to listen to is all the Harry Potter books in preparation for the big event this summer.
Then at work I have been working on my lace shawl, Pink Satisfaction. This languished for quite a bit while I was finishing my Beaded Black Betty (note to self - it's crazy to have two lace projects going on at once!) but she's back in the game now. I have 5 of my planned 11 repeats done and my goal is to finish 1 repeat (49 rows or about 5800 stitches) a week. Of course my knitting time at work varies but I at least have 30-minutes at lunch and usually a few more hours in the week when I have downtime so i have been chugging away.
Then at home it's Ripple! I love, love, love this project!!! Really, it's coming out so beautifully. I can't wait until it's done and I can snuggle under it. I try to do at least one stripe a night during the workweek and go crazy on the weekend. Or at least i did this weekend! I just finished of the first skein of each color and got 4 total repeats for about 22" at 54" wide. I want a sizable piece so I plan on making it about 76" inches long.
So that's my knitting these days. By my guesstimate, my next FO will be in about 4-weeks. Until then, it's steady knitting (and crocheting!)
The great thing about knitting (or crocheting) afghans is that you can start cuddling under it before it's even finished.

God, I am so loving that Ripple. It makes me want to learn to crochet! Just what I need, one more hobby...
